100 Word Challenge: Wasting Away

Cool night air flows freely through the open window. Darkness closes in. She rolls over and tries to get comfortable but the pains jab at her. Vicious reminders of her failure. Mocking reminders of her stupidity.

He looked so shaken, his skin pale and his eyes sunken within the dark circles of worry and sleeplessness. She gazed at him through the glass, her face blank of emotion but her mind screaming obscenities.

A cry shakes her from the sleep her body desperately craves. There is hunger in that cry. Hunger for food but also hunger for her daddy’s missing touch.

This post is part of Velvet Verbosity’s 100 Word Challenge. This week the prompt was Starved.

This is also a continuation from my 100 Words post last week
